As corruption allegation and war of words continues, investigations have revealed that construction works at Thwake dam in Makueni County have since stalled despite payments being advanced.
Reports indicate that payments worth Sh 7.4 billion have already been awarded to a Chinese company associated to former Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe.
Questions have now been raised on why the Directorate of Criminal Investigations has not move in to establish why work on the Sh 36.9 Billion worth of Mega dam has stalled.
The contract has been awarded to China Ghezouba Group which is also at logger head with Ukambani governors on how business opportunities arising from the project will be shared.
The government is committed to starting and completing Vision 2030 flagship project.
As proposed, the dam will sit on the confluence of Thwake and Athi Rivers and is touted as the greatest water reservoir in the country and the region.
Other major projects that received payments together with Thwake includes Karimenu two in Gatundu Kiambu County ,Etale dam in Nakuru and Nothern Collector Tunnel in Murang’a County
