Kenya National Private Security Workers Union (KNPSWU)has been named as the best organizer of Private Security in Africa.
The Award was awarded to KNPSWU Secretary General Isaack Andabwa at the their Nairobi offices by offices in Nairobi Eddy Stam the head of Uni Properties Services at Uni Global Union
Speaking today during the handing over ceremony at the Union Headquarters in Hurligham Nairobi, Eddy Stam said the Union was setting a good example to others in Africa in the expandin security sector
“The strength of a union depends on membership numbers, you should ensure more members enroll in the union so that you can contiunue fighting for their rights and welfare,”said Stam
He called upon KNPSWU fraternity to scale up its efforts on membership organization and thanked the KNPSWU General Secretary Isaac GM Andabwa adding that he has done exemplary work that’s worthy emulating within Africa.
Andabwa thanked Uni Global Union for the recognition and Award saying that he will continue championing for the rights of Security guards whose affairs remains neglected
“Our core mandate is to represent the interests of union members in the private security sector relentlessly on matters of industrial and dispute resolution, empowerment and capacity building,” said Andabwa.
Kenya National Private Security Workers Union is the sole legitimate Union registered under the Ministry of labour and social protection to represent the interests of unionizable private security officers in the republic of Kenya.
The Union is affiliated to COTU (K) and Uniglobal Union working very closely with other social partners in changing the face of the Private Security Industry in Kenya.
Andabwa said the union in conjunction with Private Security Regulatory Authority PSRA under the Director General of Fazul Muhammed will advance interest of the industry at heart noting that the journey towards reforms is unstoppable.
“Soon the Security Sector will be among the best and most attractive to work for including labor export based on professionalism,” said Andabwa
