Residents in Vihiga will from now get high quality healthcare services at the County Referral Hospital after the Governor H.E. Dr. Wilber Ottichilo officially opened the Amenity wing at Vihiga Referral Hospital.
Addressing residents and healthcare workers at the facility,the Governor assured the residents that once admitted at the Amenity wing one will have the priviledge of receiving top notch services from a private room which comes with special food, private washrooms, TV and executive couches.
The wing which already has assigned healthcare workers will only cost 3000 per day compared to other facilities that cost up to 15,000 across the region.
He further appealed to the residents to get National Hospital Insurance Fund(NHIF) cards which will help clear their bills once admitted in the hospital.
Ottichilo applauded services being offered at the facility urging residents in the County to use the services which include cardiac services, dental services, renal services, theatre services and CT scan services.
The Governor also commissioned the facelift of the facility with the first phase which entails curtain walling that will be complete in the next two months. The curtain walling will give the Referral Hospital a modern look.
The County Assembly led by the Speaker Hasna Mudeizi urged residents to get services from the Referral Hospital adding that the essence of devolution was to bring essential services closer to the people.
