The late freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi wife,Mukami Kimathi has sent a message of condolence to the family of Mzee Moi eulogizing him as a “devout Christian,an African icon and an astute politician”.
Mukami said she used to lead a group of former freedom fighters to visit Moi at statehouse and his Kabarnet and Kabarak homes quite often.
“He used to treated us very well,the lord had made him generous to everyone,the milk programme for school going children was also very successful,”noted Mukami.
Mukami said Moi was very jovial and welcoming to everyone.
Mukami said Moi will be remembered forever for touching and improving the lives of many people both in Kenya and across the world.
Mukami at the same time, invited all Kenyans to the 64th commemoration of field marshal Dedan Kimathi Wacuri Memorial on February 18, 2020 in Nyeri County Kahigaini area.
According to her, Moi was a hero to the country and helped many people including the Children.
“Moi was appointed by God to lead Kenyans into achieving their goals. She added.
To God he came and to God he has retuned, May God Rest Her Soul in eternal life,” added Mukami.
She remembers the day Kimathi was killed, Kenya got Independence, she said her late husband Kimathi worked closely with Moi.
The widow also prayed to God to remember Kenyans and other Freedom Fighters.
“We should retain peace and unity that our Hero’s including Moi had, the name of God be praised, “she added.
